Join Yoga for Osteoporosis-certified teacher, Betty Aten for a workshop explaining how yoga can improve bone health. It’s for those already diagnosed with osteoporosis, osteopenia, or anyone simply interested in knowing ways to prevent the disease. You’ll learn: • basic information about bones and how they change as we age; • why the 55,000,000 Americans diagnosed with osteoporosis are at greater risk of fracture; • how to interpret the results of a DXA scan, the main diagnostic tool; • specific yoga poses that have been proven to improve bone health in 80% of participants in a 10-year study involving over 700 women, and why these poses are effective. Recently, as part of a new long-term study, a new set of poses has been introduced. The practice part of the workshop will cover the new poses. Email Betty with questions:
